Thanksgiving 2003

Thanksgiving 2003

We're racing here, but I wanted to drop a couple lines in the spirit of our festive week. First of all, I am simply grateful for the life God has given me. Everyday is a blessing (although sometimes in disguise), and I'm afraid I often take for granted what has been given to me.

Portillo's: Best hotdogs period.

Back from our whirlwind trip to the Windy City, Rach and I have had about 48 hours to wash our designer jeans and re-pack for our Thanksgiving trip to the Texas Hill Country.

Anyhoo, we're racing here, but I wanted to drop a couple lines in the spirit of our festive week. First of all, I am simply grateful for the life God has given me. Everyday is a blessing (although sometimes in disguise), and I'm afraid I often take for granted what has been given to me.

I'm grateful for my family, my nieces, my parents, my grandparents (who seem to live faster lives than myself at times), and most of all my beautiful wife. How could I ever say thanks enough?

I'm grateful to do what it is that I do. Besides that stint at age 6 when I wanted to be a pilot, I have always wanted to be an artist. Perhaps I've gotten close to realizing that desire.

Before I forget, I'm grateful for you. Thanks for visiting Yellowlane. I look at the logs and wonder why all the people come, but it brings a smile to my face. Thanks for stopping by.

Finally, a big Thanksgiving shout out to Portillo's, makers of the finest hotdogs in the world.

I am glad my friend's wife works at Starbucks and that this week she's giving me her free pound of Christmas Blend 2003, not blended.

Hey Josh... we were in Chicago-land for Thanksgiving and ate at the Portillos in Vernon Hills. Good stuff!

Joshwa says

Joel's right! If you're ever in Chi-town, make sure you do not miss Portillo's. There's a plethora of locations, including downtown, so it should be easy to find one.

Enjoy!

Hey there! Portillo's is a great place to eat - been there once myself. Happy Holidays!

...and Potbelly you can't miss them!

Joshwa says

Oh, now we're talking... Yes, Potbelly is incredible. And very inexpensive for what you're getting. Sad thing is they built that new one in Wheaton like a month after we moved away!
