Macintosh industry heavyweight, the Iconfactory, released the second version of their highly acclaimed iPulse utility for Mac OS X this morning. iPulse 2 is simply slick, and is much easier for an entry-level (read: less astute) user like myself to figure out.

New features include the ability to hide and show the utility with a hotkey, and the addition of iPulse "Jackets"―appearance themes that allow you to customize the look and feel of iPulse on your desktop. Gedeon Maheux's "Ming" (pictured above) is my current favorite.

Maybe we'll just have to create our own custom Jacket sometime soon. In the meantime, iPulse 2 is a must-have for the Macintosh power-user.
