Tomorrow Rach and I meet with our builder for our "Pre-Dry Wall Meeting." We get to walk through the framed interior of our home checking to make sure all the phone lines are in the right place, the CAT-5 is properly installed, and that there is some sort of vent in place to send the fumes from the gas stove outside instead of back into our living room. This should be fun.
The photo above is a couple weeks old. We now have exterior walls and a roof (which is good, since the electrical has been lined). Besides the wonderful trappings of a new home in the digital world (our neighborhood runs fiber to every home), I'm simply looking forward to having a new garage.
Not to store junk in, mind you... Simply to have a place to park within 100 yards of our living space. Somehow when we moved from Chicago, we were unaware that our apartment does not have a breezeway through the building. And since our unit is in a back corner, we get to walk around the entire building to get to our parking spot every morning. While Dallas certainly isn't Chicago, it's been cold lately, and I'm looking forward to exercising by choice, not because I have to go back to the car for groceries.
And I can store my junk.
